Black Magic Vocabulary and Definitions
For the bored and those of you who want to actually understand the terms and how they are used in the comic, read on.

Ancients- Another name for Elders.

Counsil- The main government in the world of Liyang which is run by the Elders, Heaven, and Hell. The Counsil is split into three parts. The Counsil, The Counsil of Heaven, and The Counsil of Hell. The Counsil handles the matters of Liyang through a democratic vote in the group. The Counsil of Heaven handles the matters of Heaven and The Counsil of Hell does the same for matters of Hell. If a case is extreme enough, then all three Counsils will join together to handle it. However, The Counsil has been acting far too independantly and has been favoring those of Elder blood recently, causing suspicion among the other Counsils and the people of the world.

Demon- A creature that originated from hell and eventually began living on Liyang as one of the dominate races. They are decent magic users if they take the care to practice.

Dimension- Alternate realities and worlds from Liyang. Some of these dimensions are extremely similar (like an alternate reality) while others can be completely different.

Disappear- See "Fading".

Dragon- Strong and feirce creatures that resemble the Eastern and Western dragons of our world. These creatures are recognized for their strength and beauty. They recently have become hunted to become pets and slaves for the wealthy.

Dragon Blood- A solution used in the fuzing of souls. Dragon Blood is known to loosen the soul's grip to it's physical body, which is needed in the fuzing process. Because of it's poisonous qualities, it must be purified immediately before intake by being passed through the lips of a priest or preistess.

Elder- A race of beings who are not so powerful in the use of magic. They are called "Elders" because they happen to run most of the government in the world of Liyang. Despite being near-magicless, they are considered highly dangerous and skillful. They are also known for doing whatever it takes to get what they want and are very vicious.

Elf- In Liyang, Elves lack the ability to use and control Maho. They are tall, thin creatures that excel in hunting and business. They are known for their bargaining, hunting, and political skills. However, they are extremely self centered, greedy, and vain.

Fading- Also known as Disappearing. When a Soul Piece fails to fuze with another after a certain amount of time. The amount of time is unknown but when this happens, the person becomes transparent from time to time until they eventually disappear completely. No one knows what happens after a Soul Piece fades/disappears.

Faery- Fairy-like creatures. These creatures can be rather mischieveous and sometimes downright annoying. They excel in the use of Maho to compensate for their size. They are often hunted to become personal slaves, pets, or just plain for decoration.

Fuze- The process of combining/reuniting two Soul Pieces.

Guardian- An incredibly powerful being that governs over the world of Liyang and it's energies. There are four in total. If even one Guardians die then the world can fall into a state of chaos. The souls of the Guardians were shattered when they died, each Soul Piece went off to be reborn individually, causing the chaos of Liyang to last far longer than normal.

Harpies- Winged creatures recovering from extinction in Liyang. Harpies consist of females however there have been rumors that a male harpie is born once every couple thousand years. These creatures are looked at as prized possessions of the Elders and Elves and are often captured as pleasure pets.

HQ- "Head Quaters". The nickname of the head quarters for the Underground Movement.

Hybernation- The process of extracting a person's soul right before death and freezing their body's biological clock. This allows for the body to heal and stop aging without rotting away as the soul time to recover from the near-death experience and return to the body...if it can FIND the body that is.

Kitsune- A kitsune or fox in liyang is very similar to the fox demons of Japan. The Liyang Kitsune tend to be a bit more curious though, and also happen to be what would be considered an "endangered species". Kitsune are running extinct in Liyang because they are considered to be a delicacy among many of the races, especially dragons.

Lhei- Life energy. This form of energy is govern by the Guardian of Life, also known as the Lhei Guardian. These energies, along with the other three, help to keep the world of Liyang balanced. Without it, the world will fall into a chaotic state.

Liyang- The name of the world, country, and language spoken in the story.

Lykos- A wolf-like creature that can take on the form of either a human, wolf, or both. These creatures are often agressive and somewhat hostile towards others. It is hard to gain the trust of a Lykos but once you have, they remain fiercly loyal.

Maho- Magic energy. This form of energy is govern by the Guardian of Maho, also known as the Maho Guardian. These energies, along with the other three, help to keep the world of Liyang balanced. Without it, the world will fall into a chaotic state.

Maho Storm(s)- Maho Storms are exactly what they are called. Storms of Maho. These come and go often in Liyang, much like how rain storms do. However, Maho Storms are a result of too much Maho built up in a specific area. When the Maho build up becomes too much for the area to handle, it starts to fall from the sky in a visible form. Many find the storms to be a good way to harvest Maho though it isn't very reliable since the storms are very unpredictable. These storms are completely harmless but can make it hard to see when traveling sometimes.

Memory Orb- A orb or gem that contains memories that belong to it's owner. These memories can be released when in contact with anyone who wants the memories to be released, despite the owner's wishes. They can hold good or bad memories. How they are used depends on the owner and they come in a variety of sizes.

Poison Imp- A wild and powerful creature found in thick forests and cliff areas. They are rarely seen but are extremely dangerous if you do happen to be unfortunate enough to meet one face to face. To see one is considered to be a bad omen or a sign of bad luck.

Pure- 1) Usually used to describe the race of a being. If a being is 100% or a full-blooded demon for example, then the being is known to be a pure demon. If the being is 100% or full-blooded Kitsune, then the being is known to be a pure kitsune.
2) Another term for a Holy being (Priest, Priestess, Angel, etc).

Purify- To cleanse a being of it's sins or impurities. This is performed most often in fuzing to make sure undesired features are not fuzed into all of the soul parts. For example: curses, creatures feeding off a soul, etc.

Pyorei- Strength/power energy. This form of energy is govern by the Guardian of Power, also known as the Pyorei Guardian. These energies, along with the other three, help to keep the world of Liyang balanced. Without it, the world will fall into a chaotic state.

Reformation- The process of cleansing a soul from it's sins. This can only be done with the help of a holy being (priest, priestess, angel, etc) and takes anywhere from one to three weeks. More time can be granted if the soul is extremely tainted but this time is rarely granted. This process can also provide evidence of the person being possessed or having their soul eaten.

Sleepwalker- cat-like demons, notorious for mating when possible, due to them being at risk of becoming extinct. They usually live in groups and it's rare to ever seen one traveling without another.

Soul eater- Creatures that eat the souls of other creatures. Soul Eaters are one of the many feared creatures in Liyang due to their strength and appetite for souls. They can devour either a person's entire soul or a part. If only a part of the soul is eaten then the person will have time for their soul to regenerate (which can take from seconds if very little was eaten to years if almost all of it was eaten).

Soul Piece- Fragments of soul from the original four guardians of Liyang. Each of these pieces of soul have become individual lives. They can possess any gender, race, body type, and personality. Because each piece became an individual being, they also have a past and memories of their own. However, for the same reason, they cannot live for long periods of time and will end up fading/disappearing from existance in the dimension they were in. Each Soul Piece searches for the other pieces in order to become whole again.

Tya- Time energy. This form of energy is govern by the Guardian of Time, also known as the Tya Guardian. These energies, along with the other three, help to keep the world of Liyang balanced. Without it, the world will fall into a chaotic state.

Underground Movement- A (rather large) secret millitary-like group in Liyang who protect the country from opposing forces without the concent or knowledge of the Counsil. They protect Liyang against other dangerous groups like the Elves and Elders.

Valpyre- A Valpyre is quite similar to a Vyaamyrz but not as powerful physically. Valpyres are usually quite smart and can easily get others to do the dirty work for them in most cases. However, this does not mean that they are weak. Valpyres are one of the most dangerous creatures in Liyang, feeding not only off of the blood of their victims, but their Maho and soul as well.

Vyaamyrz- A type of demon that lives off of blood. However, that doesn't make them Vampires. Vyaamyrz only need to hunt once every 1000 years and usually don't have to do so until they reach the age of about 1600. They are related to what would be the Satan of Liyang.
